Privacy Policy
College Hoops is a single-player college basketball coaching game for iPhone, iPad and Android. You don't create an account, and your seasons, rosters and settings are saved on your own device. The game shows ads from Google AdMob and sends crash reports to Sentry so we can fix bugs. This page explains exactly what those services receive and the choices you have.

1. Data that stays on your device
Everything you create in the game is stored locally: your coach, your program, every season's schedule, box scores, recruiting classes and settings. We have no servers that receive this data, and we can't see it.
If you import or export a roster file, the game reads and writes only the file you pick in your device's file browser, and that file stays wherever you put it.
The game does not ask for access to your location, camera, microphone, photos or contacts.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game is free and shows ads through Google AdMob, operated by Google LLC. When an ad loads, Google's software on your device collects:
- your device's advertising identifier (on iPhone and iPad only if you allow tracking; on Android the Google advertising ID, which you can reset or delete),
- your IP address, from which Google estimates your general area,
- device and app information such as model, operating system, language and app version,
- how you interact with ads, such as views and taps.
Google uses this to deliver ads, measure them, and detect fraud. If you give consent where it is required (see your ad choices), Google may also use it to show ads based on your interests. Without consent you still see ads, but they are not personalized.
We receive only aggregated reports from Google, such as how many ads were shown. We never receive your advertising ID or IP address. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
3. Crash reports (Sentry)
When the game crashes or hits an error, it sends a report to Sentry, a crash-reporting service operated by Functional Software, Inc. A report contains:
- the technical error and where in the game's code it happened,
- the screens and actions that led up to it,
- your device model, operating system version, app version and similar technical details.
Crash reports do not include your name, email, advertising ID or game saves, and we have configured Sentry not to store IP addresses. We use them only to fix bugs. See the Sentry Privacy Policy for how Sentry handles data.
4. Your ad choices
iPhone and iPad
The first time you play, iOS asks whether College Hoops may track you. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, your advertising identifier is not shared. You can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland
Before any ads load, the game shows Google's consent form, where you can consent, decline, or pick individual purposes and partners. To change your answer later, open Settings › Privacy › Ad choices from the main menu.
US states with privacy laws
In California and other states with consumer privacy laws, showing personalized ads can count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information. You can opt out through the form the game shows or in Settings › Privacy › Ad choices. We don't sell personal information for money.
Android
You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Settings → Google → Ads (the exact path varies by device).
5. Children
College Hoops is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the game and data about them has been collected, contact us and we will work with our service providers to delete it.
6. Your rights by region
EEA, UK and Switzerland. We rely on your consent for personalized ads, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the game working and preventing fraud for crash reports and non-personalized ads. You can access, correct or delete your data, object to processing, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority. Our service providers are based in the United States and transfer data under the safeguards described in their own policies.
US states with privacy laws. You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete it, and opt out of personalized advertising, without being treated differently for doing so.
Because we don't run accounts, we hold almost nothing that identifies you. To handle a request about crash reports, tell us your device model and roughly when the problem happened so we can find the right reports. Requests about ad data go to Google, and you can manage them through the controls in your ad choices.
7. Retention and security
Game data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Sentry keeps crash reports for up to 90 days. Google keeps ad data according to its own policies. Data sent to Google and Sentry travels over encrypted connections.
8. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, mention it in the game's release notes.
